About the Pieces
Each piece we create is made by following an old Italian technique that combines a variety of different woods cut into shapes and then pieced together. This is similar to Marquetry, except that the pieces are layered to give it a 3-dimensional look and feel. The items range in size from small squares to a 3'x3' large scenes with thousands of pieces, such as the large African scene featuring 27 different animals. Once the items have been created, they are sealed with 3 coats of water-based polyurethane to protect the wood, although is still important that these pieces are only used on the interior of your home.
